About Me

KimaRodri wearing brown dress in the garden.

My name is Kima, the author of kimarodri.com. I am a ’90s baby born and raised in the Philippines. I graduated with a BS in Biology, majored in Microbiology, and worked as a Microbiologist. However, life is worth exploring, and I am curious about so many things I want to explore, so I pursued a technology career, which is entirely new to me.

I am currently working as a UX Researcher in a fintech company. So far, I am enjoying what I do, but I can’t deny that I am missing my previous career because I really do. I miss working in a laboratory and talking to different microorganisms, but I still have no regrets about the path I am on now.

Me as a person, hmmm..

I am an introvert yet talkative when with my comfort people. I love having my “me” time and sometimes watch Korean dramas or romantic comedy movies just to lift up my mood and my day. I do play a few mobile games, especially when I need a break from work. I love eating chocolates as it is one of my comfort foods that can change my mood instantly.

I hate myself most of the time because I’m so shy and anxious. I can’t stand talking to a stranger about personal stuff; I end up being shy and avoidant. Weird but hays.

How the blog started

I started blogging when I was in high school. I used different platforms like Multiply, Tumblr, and Blogger, where I posted my day-to-day stories and made them like an online diary. That’s where I created “HelloKimaBlog,” but due to some circumstances when I was in college, many things, including my priorities, have changed.

I never thought that my blog might lose, and because of that happening, I couldn’t retrieve everything and decided to stop blogging for good and focus on other areas of my life. And now, I have decided to go back to blogging since I miss sharing stories, ideas, thoughts, and whereabouts without thinking of other people’s judgments.

I barely use social media because I don’t feel like sharing everything in there. So expect that this blog is more about me and my journey.
